John 4:24

God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.

Palms 95

Oh come, let us sing to the Lord, let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.

Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.

For the Lord is the great God, and the great King above all gods.

In His hand are the deep places of the earth; the heights of the hills are His also.

The sea is His, for He made it; and His hands formed the dry land.

O come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.

For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand.

Comment.

Although, we cannot worship corporately, we can still worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

We can worship individually in our homes, and develop a personal relationship with our Lord, that is so important.

We will be saved individually, and will have to give account to God individually and not corporately, so we should take this time to develop a closer relationship with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Tell the Lord, your concerns, your needs, whatever is on your mind, anything that is disturbing your peace of mind, take it to the Lord in prayer.

The Bible says, ” Cast all your cares on Him, for He cares for you.  1 Peter 5:7

“Don’t be anxious about anything, but by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God about your needs and concerns, and don’t forget to thank Him for His answers.

The Bible says, ” God will give us help from trouble, for vain is the help of man.”  Psalms 108:12

Only God can help in every situation, so just trust and obey God, and He will take care of everything for you. And remember to be patient and wait on the Lord.

Have faith in God.

Prayer.

Heavenly Father,

We come to You with a humble and contrite heart. We ask forgiveness of all our sins, and cleansing from all unrighteousness.

Thank You Lord, for taking us safely through this past week.

Dear Lord, as You know we are going through a global situation with Covid-19.  Lord, there is nothing hidden from You.  You know what happened and how this situation started, ( whether it was at the wet market, or an accident in the Lab).

Lord, You know what needs to be done to stop this. We cannot solve it. But nothing is impossible with God, so we ask You to take full control of the situation.  Give the leaders and scientists the wisdom and knowledge that they need at this time.

Dear Lord, we pray for all of the hospital frontline workers, the truck drivers, the cashiers, the store clerks, the postal workers, the bus drivers, the police and paramedics and others. Please keep them safe and protect them, we pray.

Heavenly Father, we also pray for the children and parents who are home at this time. We also pray for family members who are helping out at this time, and those who are doing all they can to keep their family safe.

Lord, this is such a stressful time for everyone. Lord, please keep us healthy – Spiritually, Physically and Emotionally during this time of crisis. Lord God, we trust and have faith that You will solve this global pandemic.

Dear Lord, we need You every hour.  As our faces are different, so are our needs, issues and concerns, so we will bring our petitions to You individually.

Thank You for hearing our prayers. We praise You Lord God, and give You all the glory and honour. In Jesus name. Amen.

The Ascension

Luke 24, Mark 16, Acts 1.

Now as Jesus sat down to eat with the two disciples from Emmaus, that He asked God’s blessing on the food, and broke the bread and was passing it to them, when suddenly – it was as though their eyes were opened and they recognized Him. And at that moment He vanished from their sight.

They began telling each other how much they were encouraged as they walked with Him and He explained to them the Scriptures.

They decided to go back to Jerusalem. When they arrived the other disciples and other followers of Jesus greeted them with these words, ” The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon Peter.”

Then the two from Emmaus told their story of how Jesus had walked with them on the road, and how they had recognized Him as He eating with them, and breaking bread.

As they were telling them about it, Jesus Himself was suddenly standing there among them and said to them, “Peace to you.”

But they were frightened, thinking they had seen a spirit.

And Jesus said to them, “Why are you troubled? And why do doubts arise in your hearts? Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. “Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have.”

Then He showed them the nail marks in His hands and His feet.

They were overjoyed and marveled. Then Jesus said to them, “Have you any food here?” So they gave Him a piece of broiled fish and some honeycomb, and He took it and ate in their presence.

Then Jesus said to them, ” These are the words which I spoke to you while I was with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.”

And He opened their understanding so that they could comprehend the scriptures.

Then Jesus said to them, ” Thus it is written, and thus it is necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations beginning at Jerusalem.

“And you are witnesses of these things. Behold I sent the Promise of My Father upon you; but stay in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with the power of the Holy Spirit from on high.”

Jesus said, ” You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Jesus also said to His disciples, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Whosoever believes and is baptized will be saved; but whoever does not believe will be condemned.”

Then Jesus led them out on the road to Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them.

Now as He spoke to them and blessed them, while they watched, He began rising in the sky, and a cloud received Him out of their sight, and He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.

And while they kept looking up steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold two men stood by them in white apparel.

And said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”

Then the disciples returned to Jerusalem, and worshipped Him, with great joy, and were continually in the temple praising and blessing God. Amen.

Daily Bible Verses

The Risen Saviour appears.

Luke 24

Now two of Jesus’s disciples were walking on the road to  a village called Emmaus and they were talking about what had happened.

As they walked Jesus came near to them and walked with them. But their eyes were restrained, and they did not know that it was Jesus walking with them.

And Jesus said to them, ” What kind of conversation is this that you are having with one another as you walk and are so sad.”

Then one of the disciples (Cleopas) answered and to Him. “Are you a stranger in Jerusalem, do you not know the things that have happened there over the past days.”

And Jesus said to them, “What things?”

They said, ” the things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, a prophet, mighty in deed and word before God and the people.”

“And how the chief priest and the rulers condemned Him to death and crucified Him.” We were hoping that He would be the one to redeem Israel.”

“Also, today is the third day since these things happened. Yes, and some of the women went to the tomb, and did not find his body. They told us that they had seen a vision of angels who said that He was alive.”

“Then some of us went to the tomb and found it empty just as the women had said. But we did not see Him.”

Then Jesus said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken. Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His “glory?”

Then Jesus taught them and explained to them from the Scriptures all the things that would happen to Him.

Then as they came near to the village where they were going, that Jesus told them that He was going on further.

But they asked Jesus to stay with them, as it was getting late in the evening. They said, “Abide with us, it is late in the evening, and the day is now over.”

And Jesus went in and stayed with them.

John 11: 25

Jesus said, ” I am the resurrection and the life, He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.

Luke 24

On the first day of the week, the women took some annointing spices that they had prepared and went to the tomb of Jesus.

But they found that the stone was rolled away from the tomb.

Then they went in and did not find the body of Jesus. As they stood there perplexed and wondering what could have happened, two men appeared to them dressed in shining garments. They were frightened and bowed their heads to the ground.

The men said to them, ” Why do you seek the living among the dead. He is not here. He is Risen. Remember what He told you when He was still in Galilee.

saying, “The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified, and on the third day rise again.”

Then they ran to tell the disciples that the tomb was empty.

John 20

Then the disciples all ran to the tomb of Jesus. Then they looked inside and went in, and they say the linen cloths lying there, and the handkerchief that had been around His head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded together by itself.

Then the disciples left to go home, but Mary stood outside the tomb weeping, and looking into the tomb.

And she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.

And the angels said to Mary, ” woman, why are you weeping?”

She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him.” Now after she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not know that it was Jesus.

Jesus said to her, “woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?  (she thought He was the gardener and said to Him,) ” Sir, if you have carried Him away, tell me where you have laid Him, and I will take Him away.”

Jesus said to her, “Mary”, She turned recognizing Him,  and said to Him “Rabboni” which means Teacher.

Jesus said to her, ” Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and Your God.

Then Mary Magdalene went and told the disciples that she had seen the Risen Saviour, and told them what He said to her.

Song

Up from the grave He arose, with a mighty triumph over His foes. He arose a Victor from the dark domain, and He lives forever, with His saints to reign. He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!

All honour and power to God, the God and Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ; for it is His boundless mercy that has given us the privilege of being born again, so that we are now members of God’s own family.

Now we live in the hope of eternal life because Christ Jesus rose from the dead, and He is lives forevermore.

Thank You Father God and our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We give You all the honour and glory and majesty and praise forever and forever. Amen.
