John 8:32

Jesus said, ” You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Devotion.

How does the truth set us free? When we know the truth about what life is all about, it makes us free from the bondage of sin.

And the truth makes us everything that God created us and wants us to become.

And our life will be one of joy in the Lord God of our salvation.

Prayer (for you)

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the privilege of prayer when I can come to You with my concerns and needs and You hear my cry and will do for me what You know is best.

O Lord, I have come to seek You with all my heart, soul and mind.

Lord Jesus, You are ” the way, the truth and the life.”

And as Your Holy Scriptures says, ” we shall know the truth and it will set us free.”

Thank You for telling us the truth through the Holy Scriptures, showing us the way, and giving us eternal life through Your great sacrifice of love for us.

Lord Jesus, I believe in You and I accept You as my personal Saviour and Lord of my life.

And I give You all the thanks, praise and adoration that You deserve.

Words are not adequate enough to say thanks to You for what You have done for the human race – for me.

I will just say, ” to God be the glory, great things He has done to save and redeem me.”

How wonderful it is to be free from the bondage of sin, saved and sanctified through Jesus Christ.

Thank You Lord God, Lord Jesus, and Holy Spirit.

I love and adore You.

In Jesus’ name, I pray with thanksgiving. Amen.

Hymn.

Give me the Bible, star of gladness gleaming.

To cheer the wanderer lone and tempest tossed.

No storm can hide that peaceful radiance beaming.

Since Jesus came to seek and save the Lord.

Chorus.

Give me the Bible – Holy message shining.

Thy light shall guide me in narrow way.

Precepts and promise, law and love combining.

‘Till night shall vanish in eternal day.

2.

Give me the Bible when my heart is broken.’

When sin and grief have filled my soul with fear.

Give me the precious words by Jesus spoken.

Hold up faith’s lamp to show my Saviour near.

3.

Give me the Bible, all my steps enlighten.

Teach me the dangers of these realms below.

That lamp of safety, o’er the gloom shall brighten.

That light alone the path of peace can show.

Yes, praise the Lord, we have the Holy Bible.

The Holy Bible – the Holy Words of God to teach us the truth about our God and about Jesus Christ.

And help us to have our own close personal relationship with the God of the Universe.

And to encourage us, guide us, lead us in the way of godly living, and knowing the truth about life, and lead us back to our Creator God and life eternal.

Amen.
