1 Peter 2:11
Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul.
Devotion.
When we face opposition and end up wanting to “fit in,” the temptation to compromise our convictions becomes great. The trouble comes when we forget that this world is not our home. Therefore we must have an eternal perspective and remember we are only strangers and pilgrims here on earth. Quote by Charles Stanley.
As Christians we are just passing through, our real home is in Heaven with God and with Jesus, our Saviour.
Prayer (for you)
Heavenly Father,
How wonderful to know that as a Christian, I am just a pilgrim, a soujourner here on earth and I am just passing through.
My real home – my eternal home is in Heaven with You and with Jesus.
This makes me so very happy to know that my real home is inĀ Heaven with You.
I look forward to that wonderful day when I will see You face to face in all Your power and glory.
O Lord, Please help me to resist the temptations of this evil, corrupt world, and focus on Jesus, Who is the Author and Finisher of my faith.
Yes, help me to focus on eternal life through Jesus Christ, my Saviour and Lord.
I praise and give You thanks for Your goodness and compassions to me.
I love You, Lord God, Lord Jesus.
In Your precious name I pray. Amen.
Hymn.
How cheering is the Christian hope.
While toiling here below!
It buoys us up while passing through this wilderness of woe.
2.
It points us to a land of rest.
Where saints with Christ will reign.
Where we shall meet the loved of earth.
And never part again,
3.
Fly, lingering moments, fly, O, fly.
Dear Saviour, quickly come.
We long to see Thee as Thou art.
And reach that blissful home.
Yes, we long to see Thee as Thou art.
And reach that blissful (happy) home.
Amen.
