1 Peter 5:6-7
Therefore humble yourselves under the Mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
Devotion.
The Lord will exalt the humble, but the proud He will not.
So let us humbly accept God’s will for our lives, knowing that His plan for us is better than we can ever imagine.
And He cares for us, He loves us with an everlasting, eternal love.
Prayer (for you)
Heavenly Father,
You are the only true and living God and there is no other, but You.
Help me to be humble in all my ways, so that You can exalt me in due time.
O Lord, please take all feelings of being proud away from me, so that I can be pleasing to You in every way.
So that You will give me Your grace, and exalt me in due time.
O Lord, I know that Your plans for me are better than I can imagine or think, so please help me to be patient and be encouraged as I wait on You to do for me what is in my best interests.
I love and adore You, O Lord God Almighty.
In Jesus’ name, I pray with thanksgiving.
Hymn.
I must tell Jesus all of my troubles.
He is a kind, compassionate Friend.
I I but ask Him, He will deliver.
Makes of my troubles quickly an end.
2
O how the world to evil allures me!
O how my heart is tempted to sin!
I must tell Jesus, and He will help me.
Over the world the victory to win.
Chorus.
I must tell Jesus! I must tell Jesus!
I cannot bear my burdens alone.
I must tell Jesus, I must tell Jesus.
Jesus can help me, Jesus alone.
Amen.
