Daily Bible Verses

Last week we looked at king Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, and the interpretation God gave to Daniel in a vision.

We will review some key points today. Nebuchadnezzar was thinking about what would happen in the future, and he had a dream about future events.

However, king Nebuchadnezzar could not remember what he had dreamed about, but he knew it was important.

So he called all his wise men and astrologers to tell him the dream and its meaning, but they could not do so.

But Daniel who served the true and living God, prayed and asked God to reveal to him the dream and its interpretation.

And God did.

King Nebuchadnezzar saw an image in his dream -the head was made of gold, breast and arms of silver, belly and thighs of brass, legs of iron, and feet part iron and part clay.

Babylon was the first empire to rule the entire world.  605 BC – 539 BC.  (Head of Gold)  The ruins of Babylon can be found in modern day Iraq.

Medes and Persians Empire 539 BC – 331 BC (Breast and arms of Silver) This is now modern day Iran.

Greece – 331 BC – 146 BC ( Belly and Thighs of Brass) Greece is still around, but no longer a world empire.

Rome – 146 BC- 476 AD (Legs of Iron) Rome is no longer a world empire.

Divided Nations – 476 AD – present day.

There is no longer any world empire that rules the entire world, although we do have super powers eg. U.S.A. Different nations have tried to set up empires eg. the British but they have failed in their attempt to rule the entire world and have collapse.

God’s Kingdom – Stone Rock cut out without hands. This kingdom will last forever.

We are living in the time of Divided Nations, where each country rules itself – just as the prophets said. This is the time just before Jesus returns and set us His everlasting Kingdom, that will last forever.

The God of Heaven will soon set up His everlasting Kingdom that will last for all eternity.

“We look for a Kingdom, whose builder and maker is God.”

What a great day that will be when God sets up His eternal Kingdom.

Revelation 21:4

“And God shall wipe away all tears from our eyes, there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There will be no more pain, for the former things are passed away.”

Then He Who sat on the Throne said, ” Behold, I make all things new.”

What a great day it will be when there will be no more diseases, pestilences, wars and famine and suffering.

Instead, there will be peace, joy, happiness, love and contentment, and we will see Jesus, our Saviour, and worship God, the only true and living God and  Creator and Sustainer of all life forever and ever.
