Proverbs 15:1

A soft answer turns away wrath, but greivous words stir up anger.

Sometimes when we are angry, it may be because of something someone says.

The Bible says, “The tongue is a little member of the body, but it can do enormous damage. the tongue is full of wickedness corrupting the whole body – set on fire by hell.

People can use their words to injure others, sometimes intentional, sometimes unintentional.

We as Christians should not be afraid to tell someone that what they have said is injurious. They may not be aware of what they are saying because their mind is so warped, so when we call them on their warped words, we could be helping them to realize their wrongdoing.

Job 6:24 “Teach me, and I will hold my tongue, help me to understand what I have said wrong.”

Some people we may not be able to help, so we need to protect ourselves from their injurious words as much as we can, because it can affect us spiritually, physically, emotional and mentally.

As christians we should be aware of what we say and the words we use, especially when we are upset about something.

Job 27:4 says, “My lips will not speak any evil or  wickedness, and  my tongue will speak no lie.”

And if we say something out of anger that we know we should not have said, we should be able to recognize that what we have said is wrong and sinful and ask for forgiveness.

Psalms 37:40 “The mouth of the righteousness speak wisdom, and their tongue talk of justice.”

We sin in words, in what we do and what we think about, so that is the reason why we need to ask God to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness on a daily basis.

Those who use their words to harm and injure others are committing an evil act and it is sinful.

Proverbs 21:23 “Whoever guards their mouth and tongue, keeps their soul from trouble.”

“My tongue shall speak no evil, and lips shall speak no lie.”
