John 1:12-13
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.
Who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
When we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Saviour and Lord, and are baptized, we are born again by water and the Spirit.
Then we become children of God.
John 3: 5-8
Jesus said, ” Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, born of water and the Spirit, they cannot enter the Kingdom of God.
” That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
” Do no marvel that I said to you, you must be born again.”
” The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
