Colossians 3:12-13
Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, patience.
Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if any has a complaint against another; ever as Christ Jesus forgave you, so you also must do.
Inspiration.
Although we are not able to have these holy traits on our own, we can ask Jesus, and the Holy Spirit to help us to be humble and forgive others as He has forgiven us.
So let us be forgiving as Jesus has forgiven us, Jesus alone can help us.
Prayer (for you)
Eternal God,
I am so glad to be part of the family of God, Your beloved, and I have been washed in the fountain and cleansed by the precious blood of Jesus, my Saviour.
Lord Jesus, please help me to forgive others as You have forgiven me.
And if anyone has done me anything, if I have a complaint against someone, please be with me as I speak to them about it.
And if they are willing to acknowledge what they have done, then it will be well with us.
As Jesus says, ” if someone does something contrary to you, you should tell them, and if they are willing to listen, and acknowledge their faults, then you have won them over. ( paraphase)
And even if they are not willing to admit their fault and their contrary ways, please help me to still forgive them and not to hold any bitterness.
O Lord Jesus, You know that I cannot do this by myself, so I ask for Your help and guidance to forgive anyone who has sin against me.
I know that I can only do this with Your help and guidance, so please help me I pray, because I want to forgive as You have forgiven me.
I thank You, praise, honour and adore You, O Lord God Almighty, for Your help, guidance, protection and leading me in the holy and perfect Christ-like way.
