1 Thessalonians 4:16-18
For the Lord Himself will descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of an Archangel and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.
Therefore, comfort one another with these words.
Inspiration.
How comforting and encouraging to hear these words telling us that Jesus will come again to receive those He has redeemed by His precious blood.
The Christians who have died will rise again, and those Christians who are alive to see Jesus’ return will join them in the air to meet our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Prayer (for you)
Eternal God,
Thank You for sending Jesus to pay the penalty for our sins.
He died to redeem us, and Lord God, You raised Him to life again on the third day.
And then Jesus, You ascended to Heaven to be our Intercessor and Advocate.
And someday soon You will return – not as the suffering Saviour.
But as King of kings and Lord of lords to receive those of us who have accepted You as our Saviour.
As the Hymn says,
” Lift up the trumpet and loud let it ring. Jesus is coming again!
Cheer up you pilgrims, be joyful and sing. Jesus is coming again!
Echo it, hilltops; proclaim it, ye plains, Jesus is coming again!
Coming in glory, the Lamb that was slain; Jesus is coming again!”
Yes Jesus is coming again.
Praise the Lord! Hallelujah! Amen.
Jesus, we thank You the comfort that we receive from these words.
Please forgive me of all my sins and cleanse me and make me wholly Thine.
Also help me to persevere and endure to the end.
And keep pressing on to glory.
So that I will be with You when You return this time in all Your power and magnificent glory as King of kings and Lord of lords, to receive those You have redeemed by Your precious blood.
Lord Jesus, I look forward to that wonderful day when I will see You face to face, my Saviour and Lord.
Lord God, I give You thanks and praise for Your Holy Words that encourages and comforts us as we journey along the Christian pathway.
Your Holy Scriptures give us strength for today and hope for tomorrow.
I praise You, thank You, magnify, honour, exalt, love and adore You.
In Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
