Exodus 20:8-10a,11
Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.
Six days you shall labour and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God, in it you shall do no work.
For in six day the Lord made the Heavens and the earth, the seas and all there is, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work that He had done.
And He blessed and hallowed the seventh day.
Inspiration.
God created the Heavens and the earth, all creation, and humanity in six days and rested on the seventh day setting an example for us to follow.
As the Hymn says,
“Yes, the holy Sabbath day, by our God divinely blest.”
” It to us a sign shall be throughout all eternity. ”
” Asking Him for saving grace, also victory in the race.
” And to help us by His power, to keep holy every hour.”
“Yes, the holy Sabbath rest, by our God divinely blest.
It to us a sign shall be throughout all eternity.”
Prayer (for you)
Eternal Father,
I give You thanks and praise for this Holy Sabbath day.
A day You blessed and sanctified.
A day to rest from all the toil and labour of the past week.
O Lord, please help me by Your power to keep the Sabbath hours holy.
I worship, glorify, magnify and exalt You, O Lord God Almighty.
Thank You for providing for Your creation in every way, even a rest day, and for Your sacrifice of love to save us.
I love, adore and I bless and honour You.
In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
” Great blessings are enfolded in the observance of the Sabbath, and God desires that the Sabbath day shall be to us a day of joy.
“There was joy at the institution of the Sabbath. God looked with satisfaction upon the work of His Hands. All things that He has made He pronounced ” very good.” Genesis 1:31
“Heaven and earth were filled with rejoicing.
“The morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy.” Job 38:7.
“Though sin has entered the world to mar His perfect work, God still gives to us the Sabbath as a witness that the One Omnipotent, (all powerful), Infinite in goodness and mercy, created all things.
“Our Heavenly Father desires through the observance of the Sabbath to preserve among us a knowledge of Himself.
He desires that the Sabbath shall direct our minds to Him as the true and living God, and that through knowing Him we may have life and peace.”
