Psalms 122:1

I was glad when they said unto me, ” Let us go into the house of the Lord.”

Devotion.

Why was the psalmist glad? It was because he wanted to meet with God in the sanctuary. And also it was an opportunity for him to meet with other Christian friends and worship God.

Our Creator God deserves our worship and praise and this was an opportunity for him to do so.

Prayer (for you)

Heavenly Father,

You are the Almighty God, and You alone deserves my worship and praise.

I worship You today on this Thy Holy Sabbath day, and I give You all the honour, glory and praise that You deserve.

You are so loving, good, compassionate and merciful, and I am glad to meet You in the sanctuary, (church) and worship, praise and adore You with other Christians.

And learn and understand You more and more.

O Lord, I have come seeking Your blessings.

I pray that Your Holy Presence will be with everyone as we worship You in Spirit and in truth and may we receive a Sabbath day’s blessings.

I love and adore You.

In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Psalms 126:5

Those who sow in tears will reap in joy.

Devotion.

As we live in this sinful and corrupt world, we will experience trials and problems

But for those of us who love the Lord God, knows the Lord, and seek Him with all our heart, our tears will one day turn into joy and happiness.

Prayer (for you)

Heavenly Father,

Holy You are.

Thank You for the privilege of prayer, when I can bring all my concerns to You.

O Lord, You know all about my trials, problems and my needs.

You see all my tears and distress.

I bring everything to You, knowing that You will answer with Your best for me.

Thank You these encouraging words from Your Holy Scriptures that says, ” that our tears will turn to joy.”

What a wonderful promise.

I give You thanks and praise for all that You have done for me, and what You will continue to do for my good.

I love and adore You.

In Jesus’ precious name, I pray. Amen.

Jonah 2:7

Jonah said, ” when my soul fainted within me, I remembered the Lord.”

Devotion.

Sometimes it is only when we are in distress that we are ready to repent and seek the Lord.

And God is so loving, kind, compassionate, that no matter what we have done He will hear our prayers, no matter how simple our prayer is.

God will answer our prayer and forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from every sin, iniquity and transgressions.

Prayer (for you)

Heavenly Father,

Holy You are, so loving, good, gracious and merciful to me.

O Lord, You know all about me and my needs.

Your Holy Scriptures says that we should bring all our cares – our anxieties, needs, problems to You, because You care for us, and want to help us.

So dear Lord, I bring everything to You, things that I cannot tell anyone else.

O Lord God, You already know everything about me, but when I bring everything to You in prayer, it shows my faith, hope and trust in You, to do for me what only You can do.

I give You all the thanks and praise for what You have already done for me, what You will do for my good now and in the future.

Please continue to lead and be my life’s guide to lead me in the path of holiness and godliness.

And help me to realize that just a simple prayer will get Your attention and Your help.

So help me to remember to seek You in faith and pray ” Lord, remember me, forgive me, save me, help me and guide me.

I love and adore You and bless Your Holy name.

Psalms 117:2

The truth of the Lord endures forever.

Devotion

God’s truth from the Holy Scriptures never changes. It remains the same day by day, year by year, decade by decade and century by century.

Prayer (for you)

Heavenly Father,

I give You thanks and praise that You never change, You are the same yesterday, today and forever.

And Your Holy Word never change, the truth of God’s Holy Scriptures endures forever.

In  the beginning You created the Heavens and the earth and everything that exists.

You are the same Creator God today as You were in the beginning of time.

And Your Holy Scriptures – the truth of our Creator God endures forever.

May Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.

I give You all the glory, honour and praise that You deserve.

How great is our God, Mighty to save and strong to deliver us from sin and destruction.

How wonderful to know that Your Holy Scriptures is as relevant today as it was centuries ago.

Even more so today, because the end of this earth’s history is very near.

O Lord, I look forward to the time when You will create new Heavens and a new earth, where only holiness will reign.

And Your truth will be fulfilled.

Jesus is ” the way, the truth and the life.”

Praise the Lord God from Whom all blessing flow.

In Jesus’ name, I pray with thanksgiving.

Psalms 118:9

It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.

Devotion.

Even the best of friends can disappoint us, fail us in one way or another. Public figures promise one thing and do the other.

But God always keep His promises, His promises are sure and dependable, what He says He will do, so you can put your complete faith, confidence and trust in God.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Your promises that never fails.

Your promises are sure, dependable and will always be fulfilled.

Because You are God, and what You say, You will do.

People will fail us, friends fail us, but our Creator God promises are true, sure and absolutely dependable. 

Lord, Your Holy words will never return to You void, but what You say will come to pass.

What a Mighty God, You are, so loving, kind and compassionate, so my complete faith, confidence, hope and trust is in You, O Lord God, the Almighty.

Thank You, Lord Jesus, for Your great sacrifice of love for me, for my salvation.

And Your coming back to earth to receive Your redeemed is true, sure and will absolutely happen soon.

O Lord, thank You for Your Infinite love, tender mercies and compassions to me.

I look forward to that great day when You will return in all Your power and majesty.

Please help me to be ready and stay ready because You can come any day at any time.

How wonderful to know that heaven and earth may pass away, but ” Jesus never fails.”

O Lord, I love and adore You, bless, magnify and glorify You.

Proverbs 8:13

” The fear of the Lord is to hate evil.”

Devotion.

” As we grow spiritually, we gradually change our reaction to sin. At first, we struggle to stop ourselves from engaging in the evil behaviour that we enjoy.

However, we eventually grow spiritually to the point where we  actually hate the evil behaviour and no longer want to do it” Quote C. Stanley.

Prayer (for you)

Heavenly Father,

I stand in awe of Your Mighty power, Your Holy Power, Your Creative power and Majesty.

I give You all the glory and praise that is due to You.

O Lord, please help me to resist evil, hate evil tendencies and sin.

Help me look to You, Lord Jesus, because You will help me, guide me on the straight and narrow way that leads to life eternal through Your great sacrifice of love for me.

Please help me to grow in grace and in the full knowledge and understanding of You, of what life is all about.

So that I will detest sin and evil tendencies, and turn away from the things of the world that so easily beset me.

And look to You, Lord Jesus, Who is the Author and Finishes of my faith.

Yes, Lord, my faith is in You, my Saviour, Redeemer, Advocate, Intercessor, Good Shepherd, Friend and soon coming King of Kings and Lord of lords.

O Lord, please help me to get to the stage where I detest, hate sin, sinfulness, wickedness and evil.

Because You are a Holy God and nothing sinful or evil can come into Your Holy Presence.

Please help me to resist temptation to sin and sinfulness.

And forgive me of my past sins, and cleanse me with Your precious blood and make me clean in Your Holy sight.

O Lord, please be my life’s guide and save me by Your grace.

O Lord, thank You for Your Infinite love for me and Your amazing grace that saves to the uttermost.

Psalms 116:1

I love the Lord, because He has heard my voice and my supplications.

Because He has inclined His ear to me, therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live.

The Lord God hears every prayer and supplication that we pray, He listens to us, so let us call upon Him, seek Him with all our heart,  soul and mind as long as we live.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the privilege of prayer when I can tell You everything – bring all my cares and concerns to You.

And also my supplications ( praying for others)

How wonderful to know that the God of the Universe hears me -He listens to my prayers and supplications, and will answer with His best for me.

O Lord, how good, gracious, majestic, merciful and compassionate You are.

Thank You for Your Infinite and everlasting love for me.

Psalms 95:1-8a

Oh come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.

Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving. Let us  shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the Lord is the great God, and the great King above all gods.

In His Hand are the deep places of the earth. The heights of the hills are His also.

The sea is His, for He made it; and His Hands formed the dray land.

Oh, come let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker.

for He is our God, and we are the people of HIs pasture, and the sheep of His Hand.

Today, if you will hear HIs voice do not harden your hearts, as in the rebellion.

Devotion.

Let us worship out Creator God, for He alone deserves our worship, praise and adoration.

Also let us love and seek the Lord God with all our heart, soul and mind, and we will find Him.

And when we hear His voice, read His Holy Scriptures, let us not harden our heart and be rebellious.

But, instead, seek the Lord so we can find Him, worship Him, serve Him, and accept Jesus as our Saviour and Lord

Eternal Father,

Guide me with Your Mighty Hand.

I worship and adore You and bless Your Holy Name,

You are the only true God, You alone deserve my worship and praise.

Thank You for the Sabbath day – a day that You blessed and sanctified – made holy.

O Lord God, You knew that humanity would need a day of rest after six days of toil and activities, so You instituted the Sabbath day of rest at creation.

I thank You for all that You have done for us – Your creation to save and redeem us from sin.

Lord Jesus, please forgive me, cleanse me and make me wholly Thine, totally consecrated to You and Your Holy ways.

I love and adore You.

Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.

There are new every morning, great is Your faithfulness.

The Holy Scriptures tell us that the Lord will always be there to help, to guide. So let us seek Him with all our heart, soul and mind and we will find Him.

And His mercies and compassions to us are new every morning.

Prayer (for you)

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Your tender mercies and compassions that are new every morning, every day.

How wonderful You are, the only true and living God, and there is no other, but You.

You are the Creator God, Who made the Heavens and the earth, and everything that exists.

And You created humanity in Your Image after Your Likeness.

I love You, praise You and give You thanks for Your amazing Plan of Salvation to save me.

Please be with me and my family every moment of every day and continue to be my life’s guide.

I love You, Lord.

Proverbs 3:26

For the Lord will be your confidence, and will keep your foot from being caught.

” When we list  to God and obey His commands, He gives us the wisdom we need to avoid dishonest schemes. As Psalms 91:4,4 says, ” He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler … and under His wings you shall take refuge. His truth shall be your shield and buckler.”

Prayer (for you)

Heavenly Father,

Thank You today.

You are the Source and Sustainer of my life and I praise and glorify You for You loving kindness, Your mercies and compassions that are new every morning.

Great is Your faithfulness to me, O Lord God.

You are my confidence, my hope, my trust is in You, O Lord God Almighty.

Please continue to keep me in Your loving watch care and protection moment by moment.

O Lord, I depend on You, and I take refuge in You from the snares  – the sinfulness, wickedness and corrupt things of this world.

O Lord Jesus, You are ” the way, the truth and the life” please continue to keep me on the narrow way, teach me the truth, and help me to endure to the end.

So that I will receive eternal life through Your great sacrifice of love for me.

I glorify and exalt You.

So, although I’m not an angel.

I will sing about my Saviour.

Who upon dark Calvary.

Freely pardoned my transgressions.

He died to set a sinner free.

But when I sing redemption story.

For Angels never felt the joys.
