James 4:8b
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
Devotion.
Draw – come close to God and He will come close to you.
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your Holy Bible that tells us that You will draw near to those who draw near to You.
Yes, Lord, my desire is to be close to You and have my own close personal relationship with You.
And I want my close personal relationship to be stronger and stronger with You each and every day.
Lord, help me to read, study and listen to what Your Holy Scriptures says. And think about what You have done for me and what You want me to do.
And daily draw near to You – come to You daily in prayer.
Because prayer is talking to God, to Jesus.
O Lord, what a wonderful privilege You have given to us, to be able to talk to You in prayer and tell You everything – even things that I cannot tell anyone else.
I can bring everything to You in prayer and You will do for me what is in my best interests at all times.
And I believe in Jesus and that God sent Jesus to die for my sins.
And that Jesus loves me.
And that Jesus died to save me, and He would not do that unless He loved me.
Yes, I believe in You, Lord God and in Jesus Christ, my Saviour, and I pray that my belief, my faith, my trust in You will get stronger and stronger every day.
Lord God, Lord Jesus, I love and adore You and bless Your Holy name.
Praise the Lord!
In Jesus’ name, I pray with thanksgiving. Amen.
Hymn.
There is a place of quiet rest.
Near to the heart of God.
A place where sin cannot molest.
Near to the heart of God.
Chorus.
O Jesus, blessed Redeemer.
Sent from the heart of God.
Hold us, who wait before Thee.
Near to the heart of God.
Yes, Lord, I want to be close to You.
Near to You, near to the heart of God.
Hallelujah! Amen.
