Exodus 20:8-11

Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy, six days you shall labour and do all your work.

But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God.  In it you shall do no work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor female servant. nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates.

For in six days the Lord made the Heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them and rested the seventh day.

Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

Devotion.

The Lord God, Creator God did all His creative work in six days and rested on the seventh day, He was not tired, instead He set an example for us to follow, because He created us, and He knew that we would need a day of rest from all our work and activities.

The Lord blessed the seventh day and hallowed it – made it holy.

Prayer (for you)

Thank You for all that You have done for us Your creation.

You have instituted the seventh day – Your Holy Sabbath day of rest for us.

This is a Holy day, a day that Your blessed and sanctified.

Lord, You knew that we would need a day of rest after all our work and activities of the past six days.

Thank You for Your Infinite loving kindness, goodness, tender mercies, compassions and Your forgiveness.

Please help me to keep the Sabbath day holy and worship and praise You on this Your Holy day.

Lord God, please help me to be obedient to You and leave all the consequences to You.

You are God, the only true and living God, and Lord Jesus, You are ” the way, the truth and the life.”
