Ephesians 2:8

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of  yourselves; it is the gift of God.

Devotion.

Faith is our human response prompted by the Holy Spirit. God is the gracious Initiator, Who, through the Holy Spirit, draws us to Himself when we allow Him to do so.

Jeremiah 31:3 says, ” The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying, ” Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving kindness I have drawn you.”

We are saved by grace, through faith, that is a response to God’s grace give to us through Jesus’ death. We are saved because we believe in God as a result of His grace. This is at the heart of having a relationship with Him. Quote from SS Lesson.

God has given to each of us a measure of faith.

So let us exercise our faith in God, believe in God and in Jesus Christ, and as we do our faith will increase.

Prayer (for you)

Heavenly Father,

Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God, the Almighty.

You are the only true and living God, all other gods are idols made from wood and stone – made of the things that the true and living God created.

What a Mighty God, we serve, You are Mighty to save and strong to deliver Your creation from sin.

Thank You for sending Jesus to be my Saviour.

After Adam and Eve sinned through their dis-obedience, the Lord  could have started over, but You loved us so much that You made a way for us to be saved from sin.

Lord Jesus, thank You for coming to earth, dwelling among us, and showing us the way, and ultimately shedding Your precious, holy blood to pay the penalty for our sins.

The Holy Scriptures says, ” without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins ( no forgiveness of sins.)

Thank You, Lord Jesus, for shedding Your holy, precious blood for my salvation.

O Lord, my faith, hope and trust is in You.

Please help me to exercise my faith daily, trusting in You, hoping in You, so that my faith will increase as I have faith in God.

Yes, Lord, my faith, trust and hope is in You, in the good times, in the storms of life, the perilous times, because I know that You are always there for me, and You will never leave me or forsake me.

How wonderful to know that as I exercise my faith, I will develop a closer personal relationship with the Lord, and understand and learn more about Him.

O Lord, I give You thanks and praise for what You have done for me, what You are doing, and will continue to do for me in every situation.

Please forgive me of my sins and cleanse me from all unrighteousness.

I bless, honour and glorify You.

In Jesus’ name, I pray with thanksgiving. Amen.
