Proverbs 7:2
Keep my commands and live, and my law as the apple of your eye.
Devotion.
” How do we approach our time reading the Holy Scriptures? Do we rush through or it is a delightful opportunity to get to know God?
David said, ” Oh how I love Your law! (Psalms 119:97). The more time that we spend in God’s Holy Scriptures, the more we will grow to love and appreciate how the Lord speaks to us through it.
Prayer (for you)
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your Holy Words that is a ” lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” ( Psalms 119:105)
To show me the way to be saved, and leads me in the path of holiness.
You are such a good God, Who is Mighty to save and strong to deliver Your creation from sin and destruction.
O Lord, please help me to spend more time reading and meditating on Your Holy Scriptures, so that I can get to know You better, and develop my own closer relationship with You.
I give You thanks and praise for Your Infinite love and tender mercies to me.
In Jesus’ precious name, I pray. Amen.
Hymn.
Give me the Bible, star of gladness gleaming.
To cheer the wanderer lone and tempest tossed.
No storm can hide that peaceful radiance beaming.
Since Jesus came to seek and save the lost.
2.
Give me the Bible when my heart is broken.
When sin and grief have filled my soul with fear.
Give me the precious words by Jesus spoken.
Holy up faith’s lamp to show my Saviour near.
3.
Give me the Bible, all my steps enlighten.
Teach me the dangers of these realms below.
That lamp of safety, o’er the gloom shall brighten.
That light alone the path of peace can show.
Chorus.
Give me the Bible, holy message shining.
Thy light shall guide me in the narrow way.
Precept and promise, law and love combining.
‘ Till night shall vanish in eternal day.
Praise the Lord!
