James 4:8
” Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”
Devotion.
When we sense God’s Holy Spirit convicting us to draw near to Him, we should humble ourselves and respond by confessing and repenting and seeking the Lord with all our hearts.
Then the peace of the Lord will guide our hearts and minds through Jesus Christ, our Saviour.
Prayer (for you)
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the privilege of prayer – a way to communicate with the Creator God of the Universe.
I come to You with a humble heart, and draw near to You, seek You with all my heart, soul and mind.
And I confess and repent of every sin.
Yes, Lord, as Your Holy Words says, ” I return to You, and I praise and adore You.
Thank You for Your promise that if I return to You, You will return to me.
O Lord, I need You every hour to lead and guide me as I journey along the narrow pathway that leads to You and life eternal.
Thank You for Your peace that surpasses all human understanding.
I praise, glorify and exalt You.
In Jesus’ Holy name, I pray. Amen.
Hymn.
Out of my bondage, sorrow and night.
Jesus, I come, Jesus, I come
Into Thy freedom, gladness and light.
Jesus, I come to Thee.
Out of my sickness into Thy health.
Out of my want and into Thy wealth.
Out of my sin and into Thyself.
Jesus, I come to Thee.
Praise the Lord!
