Colossians 3:2
Set your mind on things above, not on things of the earth.
Devotion.
Let us focus on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith, and keep our mind on Him and what He has done for us.
Because what we think about affects us in many ways, so let us focus on good, holy and godly things, and the things that honour God.
God wants to transform us and the transformation begins in our minds.
Prayer (for you)
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for another day to seek You in prayer and supplication.
O Lord, please help me to focus on glory, things above and not on earthly things.
Because this earth is passing away, but Heavenly things will endure forever.
Lord Jesus, please transform my mind, my thoughts and make me more and more like You.
Help me to continue to look to You, the Author and Finisher of my faith.
Thank You for Your great sacrifice of love to save and redeem me from sin and destruction.
I praise and exalt You, O Lord God Almighty.
In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
Hymn.
Be still, my soul; the Lord is on thy side.
Bear patiently the cross of grief and pain.
Leave to the Lord to order and provide.
In every change He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul; thy best, thy heavenly Friend.
Through thorny way leads to a joyful end.
2.
Be still, my soul; thy God doth undertake.
To guide the future as He has the past.
Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake.
All now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul; the waves and winds still know.
His voice Who ruled them while He dwelt below.
3.
Be still, my soul; the hour is hastening on.
When we shall be forever with the Lord.
When disappointment, grief and fear are gone.
Sorrow forgot, love’s purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul; when change and tears are past.
All safe and blessed we shall meet at last.
Praise the Lord! Amen.
